Bettina Ammerman Obituary

Bettina Ammerman

Concord, NH - Bettina (Tina) Ammerman, age 77, of Portsmouth Street, Concord, passed away on February 17, 2025, at Concord Hospital after a sudden illness.

She was the adopted daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Farretra) Willson. She worked at United Life/Chubb Life/Jefferson Pilot in multiple positions for over 35 years starting as file clerk to manager in their broker dealer division and finally in their legal department. Her final 10 years were working for the legislative branch of the State of NH.

Tina was an only child and is survived by her husband, Gary Ammerman of Concord, her beloved dog Felix, recently found half-sister, Sharon Martinez of California, cousins Sandy Anderson of Savannah Ga, Diane Gauthier of Maynard, MA and Skip Farretra of Epsom.

Tina graduated from Concord High School, class of 1965, attended Keene State College and graduated from UNH in Durham with BA in 1978. She lived most of her life in Concord and had simple pleasures starting with her dogs and shopping. She spent almost every weekend roaming downtown Concord and knew many shop owners as true friends, not just as a customer. She was friendly and generous with most people unless you pissed her off and then you were canceled forever.

There will be no viewing hours or services.

Burial will be at a later date in the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pope Memorial SPCA 94 Silk Farm Road, Concord, NH 03301

So many great times with Tina. When she came to me she was still working and we did some really fun haircuts and hair colors. We had some great conversations and wonderful memories. She became more than just a client but a good friend.I will miss her dearly.

I'm saddened to hear of Tina's passing, I was her neighbor on Portsmouth St for many years. She was always up for a chat and so sweet, she was incredibly generous to my children and even after we moved she stayed in touch with my oldest when he worked at Concord Beef & Seafood. Give Felix a big squeeze from The Houston/Ramshaw family.

What sad news this is! I loved Tina and her terrible influence on my downtown shopping habits! She was such a good person and sharp wit. She will be so much missed.

I met Tina Wilson when I was hired at United Life Ins. as a file clerk, fresh out of Concord High in '69 and 17. At first I thought she was "all business" but soon learned that she was a comedian that kept us laughing. Her personality made work a very fun and often just plain silly atmosphere. I remember her rendition of "They 're Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace" dancing in the rows of policy files.
We cried tears of laughter each time.
She would come to teach the dance to all of us...Hysterical.
Tina loved her animals and was passionate about their care. My condolences on your loss Gary and Felix. Rest in peace, Tina.

I worked with Tina for many years at Chubb/United Life. She had a great sense of humor and amused many of us as she smoked over lunch - since she refused to eat at work .

I worked with Tina at the Legislature for several years. I remember her for great sense of humor, flair for fashion, love of history and the daily crossword puzzle. I’ll miss the twinkle in her eye after making a particularly sharp observation. It was clear that she and Gary made quite a team and I send him, Sandy and the rest of the family my condolences. She was loved.

Tina and I became very close at Chubb. She was like a big sister to me. Her love for animals and her devotion to Gary will be something I'll always remember, along with her wit, humor, and wardrobe .

I am so sorry to hear of Tina's passing. She was such a lovely and fun person to be with. We shared a lot of laughs and her acerbic wit was devastating, a true joy. Our pets and family were always at the top of our daily conversations. Even though we hadn't worked together for a while since we both retired from the state we did see each other on occasion around town and it reminded me how much I missed her. Now and forever I will miss her and will treasure my memories. Gary, Sandy, and family, including Felix, I hope you find some comfort and peace and I send my condolences and love to you.
