Brent Cameron Obituary

Brent MacDonald Cameron

New London, NH - Brent Cameron died unexpectedly last week at his home in New London, NH at the age of 57.

He was born on May 11th, 1966 in Concord, NH to Hugh and Judy Cameron.

Brent grew up in Concord and Bow and spent summers on Hastings Landing at Lake Sunapee. He attended Bow Memorial and Concord High School, graduating in 1984. He ran track and was on the ski team. He was very proud to have been taught by Christa McAuliffe, Concord's astronaut teacher. He also attended Keene State College studying Business.

Brent worked summers for Cricenti's Market in New London and began a career in store management with Edwards Supermarkets, where he traveled around New England opening new branch stores.

Brent was an avid skier, mainly at Ragged Mountain and Waterville Valley in his youth, and he later worked at Park City in Utah. He most enjoyed Hobie Cat sailing on lake Sunapee and his summers spent with the Hastings Landing crew were certainly his happiest times. He loved cool cars and tinkering around his house. Struggles with mental illness took their toll in recent years, but he fought to maintain his independence. Brent was a faithful friend and a kind soul who cared deeply about others. He was always first to lend a helping hand. Brent had a wonderful sense of humor, amazing recall for details, and so many stories to tell!

Brent is predeceased by his parents Hugh & Judy Cameron of Bow, New London and Pine Island, Fla. He leaves his sister Joan Cameron Gordon and her husband Andy, of Amherst , NH. His nephews and niece, Alexander Gordon of Bangor, ME, Jackson Gordon of Los Angeles, CA and Amanda Gordon of San Fransisco, CA. He also leaves his Aunt Mary Ellin Cameron and cousin Jessica of Salisbury, NH, His Aunt Barbara Burns of North Sutton, NH and cousins Jason and Jennie, as well as cousins Kathy, Jennifer and Peter Cameron. His beloved dog Bentley remains in the care of his Aunt Mary Ellin.

Visiting hours will be held at Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on March 23rd 3-5 P.M. and all are welcome. In lieu of flowers please donate to https://donate.bbrfoundation.org A graveside service will be planned for late spring.

Brent was such an adorable and funny young man! I loved talking to him on the bus ride (in Bow). He always made me laugh. I’m so very sorry for your loss.

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Brent had passed away. Brent worked for my Families Store (Cricenti's Market) as did his Aunt Mary Ellin. I used to run into Brent around Town. He always had a story to tell as did I. Mental Illness is not a pleasant thing to deal with, but he did his best. My Condolences to his Family.

Brent was one of the first people to reach out to me when I first moved to Bow in elementary school years. He was always kind, thoughtful, and had the best sense of humor! I have some fun memories with him. He was always ready for an adventure during the high school years and would always reach out with the plan . Brent will be thought of often and will be very missed.

I've known Brent since he was a little boy. He was funny, smart, always planning a new project, and loved to help people. Brent was a part of our family. He left us way too soon. Sail on dear Brent. xo

Brent was a loyal friend and supportive neighbor He would always want to help out in some way and always looked for ways to lend a helping hand. Very kind!! We remember when, on his own, he went out of his way to make and set up a swing for our grandson. We will miss him and also our friendly chats.
