Bruce Chartier Obituary

Bruce Chartier

Loudon, NH - Mr. Bruce R. Chartier, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Woonsocket, RI to Alfred Chartier and Vivian (Richard) Amour. He lived in New Hampshire most of his life, calling Gilmanton, Epsom and Loudon home, with his last years in Loudon.

Bruce had retired from being a self-employed General Contractor, a job which he pursued since 2005.

Bruce was a hard-working, generous man who did what it took to get a job done right. He was a man who enjoyed simple pleasures, helping others, spending time with family and friends. Bruce will always be remembered for his working man sense of humor and his contagious laugh. He loved his animals, especially his dogs. In his younger years he built and raced stock cars. In more recent years, he has enjoyed local travel to be on a lake, Mount Washington or visit NH attractions. He has also enjoyed learning traditional crafts, trying his hand at coal-forged blacksmithing, bowl turning and other arts. He and his wife Cheryl had a short time together, but it was filled with love and fun.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Doe Chartier, his mother Vivian Amour, three sisters, Cathy King and her husband Matthew; Donna Worthen and her husband Peter; Sheila Hicks and her husband David; two brothers, Joseph Amour and his wife Nancy; David Amour; a stepbrother Richard Amour; and a stepsister Susan Pigeon. He leaves his children Rebecca Martin and her husband Justyn; Brandon Chartier and his wife Holly. He also leaves six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Donations in his memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity or a charity of your choice.

There will be no services. At a future date, family will hold a celebration of his life.

The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bruce worked for me on a few projects in my Condo. He was one of the most talented, honest and hardest working individuals I have ever witnessed. I always felt blessed when I was able to hire Bruce for projects. I have several reminders of his work that I see every day.
Glad that he found happiness with Cheryl in his final years. If anyone deserved it, Bruce did. Rest easy, Bruce. You have certainly earned it.

Dear Cheryl and family. All of the Dumont family and extended family were so sad to hear of Bruce's passing. He was one of the nicest humans ever walking the planet. We will remember him fondly as a friend who cared so deeply for all of us and we were blessed to have him in our lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time.

Bruce could fix anything, and he always took great care in his work. Whatever he got his hands on you knew it would be a vast improvement from its previous state. He was a true perfectionist. I enjoyed working with Bruce for many years. He was always genuine and incredibly helpful. My condolences to the family.
