Carlene Eaton

Hill, NH - Carlene (Jones) Eaton, 97, of Hill passed away peacefully at the Concord Hospital- Franklin on August 31, 2023.

She was born on December 12, 1925 in Franklin, NH the daughter of Marguerite (Foster) and Aubrey P. Jones. She lived her entire life in Hill Village, growing up in the Old Village and lived her adult life in the New Village after its relocation in 1941.

She was predeceased by her best friend and beloved husband, Glendon M. Eaton who passed on December 25, 2008. They were the first couple married in the new Hill Village Union Church on June 16, 1951. She also mourned the loss of her constant pet companion Molly, who crossed over the rainbow bridge on April 24, 2014.

She was a graduate of Franklin High School Class of 1944. She worked for the ration board, Franklin Needle Company and as a secretary in Dr. Kropps Office. She also worked part time in the Hill Post Office for over 25 years.

She was member of the Ladies League of Hill, the Eastern Star in Bristol, the Bristol United Church of Christ and enjoyed sharing stories of growing up in Old Hill Village with students of the Jennie D. Blake School as part of the Our Story Program.

She enjoyed county tin painting, giving away many as gifts and her home is filled with her talent. She loved gardening which she enjoyed well into her 90's. Crafting, bird watching, reading, and solving word finds were enjoyed too.

Her family includes her daughter, Lana (Eaton) Regel and her husband, Paul; grandson, Adam C. Taylor of Chesterland, OH; niece Peggy Keeney of Nashua, NH; and nephew, Jack Eaton of Weare, NH. Also missing "Grammie" is MeMe her constant and devoted fur baby.

The family would like to thank the countless neighbors and friends who so generously, lovingly and unselfishly gave their time and care to help Mom remain in her own home until literally her final day.

They would also like to thank the Franklin VNA for their tireless efforts to keep Mom healthy, mobile and at home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Bristol United Church of Christ, 15 Church St., Bristol followed by a gathering at the church. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hill.
