Cecile Freeman Obituary

Cecile M. Freeman, 86, of 25 Damy Drive passed away at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester on Dec. 11, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Freeman was born in Franklin on June 2, 1928, the daughter of Katherine and Michael Buczynski. She and her twin sister Leona were the youngest of 13 children. Cecile was predeceased by her husband John Freeman and son Brian Freeman. She leaves behind her son Michael Freeman and his wife, Nancy, of Littleton, Mass., her son Jonathan Freeman and wife, Mimi, of Plymouth, and daughter Catherine Freeman and husband, Richard Hamilton, of North Kingston, RI. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Michael Freeman and his wife, Cintia, of Methuen, Mass., Kelley Freeman Faucher of Holderness, Shawn Freeman of Las Vegas, and Erin Freeman of Seattle, and her great-grandchildren Garrett Faucher and Isabell Bushaw of Holderness.

Cecile loved her family and her greatest joy was time spent with them. She was always there for any family member who needed her help. She served as an inspiration and an unselfish, caring and giving person to all who knew her. She was so proud of her Polish heritage and also of the achievements of her children and their families. Cecile had a passion for travel. She traveled extensively in Europe and especially enjoyed traveling to Poland to discover her roots, and to Hungary for her grandson's wedding. She often traveled to Ireland with her in-laws visiting their cousins and the sights. She had a great sense of adventure and loved sailing on her daughter and son-in-law boat along the Atlantic coast and in the Caribbean and Central America.

She worked for many years at JP Stevens Textile in Franklin and Tilton, then retrained and continued her career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Concord. After retirement, she worked for Community Action Programs of Merrimack and Belknap Counties out of the Concord office. Cecile volunteered at the Union Sanborn School, right up until shortly before her death, where she found much joy in working with second graders as a "Foster Grammy" teaching assistant.

Visitation hours are 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at the Wendell Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook. A funeral service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 9 Bonney St., Penacook on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

I really enjoyed working with Cecile at BC/BS. I'll always remember how she made us all laugh. She never let us skip walking at lunch time because of the weather. She said we all needed the exercise. She was always very lively. I'll miss her.
