Cheryl Couture Obituary
Manchester, NH - It is with sadness that we announce that Cheryl A. (Hillsgrove) Couture, 77, of Manchester, NH passed away on February 22, 2025, at St. Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in Concord, NH on July 9, 1947, she was the daughter of George and Claire (Provost) Hillsgrove.
Cheryl graduated from Concord High School in 1965. She married Clermond Couture in 1968, and they made their home in Boscawen, NH for over 40 years.
Cheryl was employed as a unit secretary at Merrimack County Nursing Home for several years.
Cheryl enjoyed the ocean and was an avid lighthouse collector. Cheryl's favorite road trip was to York, Maine where she would always stop and appreciate the view of the Nubble Lighthouse before walking along the shores of Short Sands Beach. Cheryl never left the beach without a box of famous saltwater taffy from The Goldenrod. Cheryl enjoyed reading, playing board games, especially Yahtzee, and spending Saturday nights with her sisters at BINGO. Cheryl will be remembered for her glazed lemon loaf, homemade sauce and meatballs, and pecan pie, as they all were second to none.
Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Christie Couture of Manchester, NH, her sister, Claire Wilkinson and her husband Melbourne of Dover, NH, her sisters-in-law, Jaceline (Jess) Tilton, Nancy Couture and Johanne Couture as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sister, Lorraine Erickson.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord, NH at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made in Cheryl's name to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
The Cremation Society of New Hampshire has been entrusted with final arrangements.
