Christopher Smykil Obituary

Christopher Stephen Smykil, 44 of Concord, passed away at his home early Wednesday morning after a prolonged battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by the family and friends he loved most.

Born in 1976, to loving parents Keith and Joyce Smykil of Loudon, he was a 1994 graduate of Concord High School. Christopher spent most of his life living in Concord.

Christopher lived for his children and was happiest spending time with them. He cherished coaching his sons' baseball and basketball teams.

A 25-year employee of Bow Plumbing and Heating, he was a hard and dedicated worker. He held multiple licenses including that of a master plumber, HVAC technician, and gas fitter.

He was a zealous Patriots fan, loved Led Zeppelin, and celebrated Halloween every year with zeal.

He is survived by his two sons Keith and Aaron Smykil and their mother Paula (Fruin) Smykil, parents Keith and Joyce (née Mantovani) Smykil, brother Jeffrey (Caitlin) Smykil of Chicago, IL, mother in-law Andee Fruin, sister-in law Patricia (Paul) Fenton and their children all of Pensacola, FL and lifelong best friend Jonathan (Heather) White of Chichester.

A Catholic mass will be held Tuesday, November 3rd at 1:00 PM, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Loudon Road in Concord, NH, followed by a procession to Pine Grove Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Concord School District

It doesn´t seem fair that such a fabulous man left this earth four years ago. I guess there was another plan but this world needs more people like Christopher. Thinking of him now, his favorite holiday Halloween and forever. Aunt Kim

Chris was a devoted father, and friend. He was genuine, caring, and a good soul. I hold dear to my heart many fond childhood memories, and shared Patriots games, where Chris displayed his pride in the Patriot's defense, and his faith in Wilfork, all while never failing to appear ready with a bag of chips. Chris had a level head, a kind heart, and a great sense of humor. Chris understood the value of family and friends, and protected and fought for them and their happiness and wellness his way. We love you and will miss you, Chris. Rest in peace.

We are sending many prayers for Chris and his family. We only knew him as Chris, but always hoped Bow Plumbing would send Chris, whenever our building had a plumbing crisis. He had a great work ethic and always explained the problem in a language that we could understand. May peace be with him & his family.

Our deepest sympathies to Keith, Joyce and the Smykil family. We knew Chris mainly for his professional visits to our home and daughter's home to deal with heating issues. Fine young man, gone way to soon but sure fought his battle with Cancer courageously!! Most Respectfully, Don & Sandra Morrison

When I look back on the last 20 years, I don't see a time we weren't a team. We shared so many things that many friends don't. Foot ball games , apple picking, Halloween , daily chatter about nonsense . Then there are the big things like when Keith thought he wanted to be a farmer, or we had our children together. Family vacations, weddings, reunions and the amount of support we gave to one another. Things will be different but the love our families will share won't change ❤. I'll miss you my friend, but I will cherish our bond for my life time. I wish I could do more for your family, but love is all I have to give and as you have told me for years, it is more then enough.

Paula and boys, our home is as open to you still as it has always been. We love you !

There are no words to adequately express the sadness and sorrow on hearing the news of Christophers passing. His will to live against terrible odds was a true testament of his love for his family and friends. For all those who knew and loved Christopher, even from a distance, he was one of the finest, loving and giving human beings to ever walk this earth and will now be the brightest star in the sky. May you find comfort in knowing how many people he touched in his short life and how much he was loved by others.
