Contoocook, NH - David A. Edwards, 69 of Contoocook, NH, passed away sleeping peacefully in the early morning hours of February 4, 2026 at the Hospice House in Concord, NH.

David lived in Contoocook his entire life, attending Hopkinton schools. He worked in maintenance positions at several companies within the same building in Contoocook beginning with Converse Rubber in 1976 until his retirement from McLean's in 2021.

David had a lifetime love of snowmobiling and was a long-time member of the Contoocook Snomads. He also had a love of NASCAR and was proudly "the boss" of a mini-stock car racing team #88 Cayer Racing with his son Scott and his "other son" Emerson. They enjoyed traveling the east coast for many years. In the last couple of years, he was again able to enjoy the dirt bike tracks watching Scott race with "the older guys" now. This last summer he was able to watch the races from the comfort of a camper – a true blessing.

Spending time with his family and friends was a very important part of the past few years for David. If you knew him, you know that he lived life on his own terms and he would drop anything and everything to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by many.

David was predeceased by his parents, Orville and Priscilla Edwards, and his sister, Deborah Edwards Emerson. He is survived by his son, Scott Edwards, his former wife and good friend, Sheila MacLean Edwards, his sister Dodie and her husband, David Smith, and his brother Dwaine Edwards and his wife, Kelly Smith. He also left behind his beloved Dixie the dog and Kiki the cat who miss him terribly.

At David's request there will be no formal Funeral services or burial, but a gathering of family and friends. All of who are invited to attend a Celebration of life to be held at the American Legion, Post 81, Contoocook, NH on Saturday, March 7th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Bring some funny memories and stories to share if you have them.
