Dean Coburn Obituary

Dean James Coburn, 56, of Hopkinton, NH passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2018. He was born on January 18, 1962 in Winchester, Massachusetts to James D. Mac Adam Jr. and Jean L. Coburn, and was raised and educated in California; a graduate of Gunn High School in Palo Alto, class of 1980. He earned his bachelor's degree in Business/Computer Science from San Jose State University and obtained a successful career in Computer Sales.

In 1991 Dean met the love of his life, Jacqueline Bennetts and the two were married on January 2, 1994. They welcomed two healthy sons, Samuel Coburn and Kenneth Coburn and settled in New Hampshire to raise their family and start a successful Real Estate Investment/Property Management business. Dean was a man of many talents; loving and devoted son, husband, and father who went above and beyond for his family, a compassionate landlord, and a savvy businessman. He was respected and admired by all who knew him and was known for his strong work ethic, supreme integrity, and deep kindness. Dean's sincerity and desire to help was a bright light to many facing difficult times, who could be counted on in any situation. He touched the lives of those he encountered with his witty sense of humor and generosity.

He was knowledgeable in many areas, and took the time to share all that he knew with his sons, who were his true pride and joy. He loved to travel and when time allowed enjoyed; backpacking, hiking, bicycling, scuba diving, fishing and boating. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.

Dean was predeceased by 5 months by his beloved son, Kenneth "Kenny" Coburn; grandparents, Dean and Eleanor Coburn; father, James Mac Adam Jr.; aunt, Ann Howland; and uncle, John Coburn.

He leaves behind his partner in life, Jacqueline Coburn; his son, Samuel Coburn; mother, Jean Coburn of Boscawen; brother, William Erickson and family of California; cousins, George and Edward De Roche of Massachusetts; cousin, Susan Spinale of Middleton, NH; and many friends and extended family who will forever grieve his loss.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a donation in Dean's memory, may donate to the NH Veteran's Cemetery Association, Inc. "NH Veterans Heritage Learning Center" P.O. Box 626, Concord, NH 03302-0626. To donate online: nhvca.org/veterans-heritage-learning-center.
