Edith Beliveau Obituary

Edith Kathleen Beliveau

Concord, NH - Edith Kathleen Beliveau, age 102, of Concord, NH, formerly of Baldwin, NY, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord.

Edith, who went by Kathleen, was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 22, 1923, daughter of the late Frederik and Edith G. (Anderson) Voigt. She lived in Brooklyn until 1931 when her family moved to Baldwin, Long Island, NY. Kathleen graduated from Baldwin High School in 1940. She was a proud graduate of Shubert Elementary School and, in 2005, traveled to Baldwin to attend the 75th anniversary celebration of the opening of the school.

Kathleen spent over 44 years working in corporate America for a number of large companies including William L. Barrell Co. Inc, A. Marchand, SMEI, Middle South Utilities (Entergy), Union Camp, and finally retiring in 1985 from Nabisco Brands, Office of Corporate Secretary, Law Department.

She married Rev. Harold E. Beliveau on July 5, 1982. Following their retirement, Kathleen and Harold moved to the Beliveau family home in Concord. They enjoyed many years renewing the Victorian beauty of their home, travelling around the country in their motor home and throughout Europe. Kathleen enjoyed interior design, music, theatre and taking LINEC and Road Scholar courses. She was a lifelong Episcopalian and member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Baldwin and longtime Garden Club member on Long Island. In Concord, she was an active member of Sacred Dancers, the Stratford Club, The Pierce Brigade, Granite State Ambassadors, Chamber of Commerce, Grace Episcopal Church, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. For many years, Kathleen and Harold would often be seen together volunteering at the Capitol Center for the Arts.

Kathleen was a wonderful and loving grandmother and great grandmother. She exquisitely orchestrated camping trips for "the boys", Jason and Jonathan, on their trips up to NH, making sure the campgrounds had a swimming pool and many activities. Kathleen used her talents in sewing to create costumes for Halloween and new outfits for Monika and Emily's American Girl dolls. Whatever she did, she did with a well-defined plan and purpose that made every grandchild feel special. In her later years, she would light up as she shared with whomever she was speaking with about the pictures on her digital picture frame of all her great-grandchildren (8 in all).

Kathleen is survived by her stepchildren, Peter S. Beliveau of Woodstock, GA, Melissa A. Beliveau of Seligman, AZ, and Mark E. Beliveau and his wife, Erlinde of Lee, NH; former daughter in law, Carol Beliveau Wisong; grandchildren, Jason C. Beliveau and his wife, Jamie, Jonathan P. Beliveau and his wife Kimberly, Monika E. Beliveau DeTurk and her husband Paul, and Emily A. Beliveau; several great grandchildren; her first cousins once removed, Alan and Brian Selling; her dear friend Judy Wood.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Harold E. Beliveau who passed away in 2015; and her cousin who was like a brother to her, Robert M. Selling and his wife Elizabeth.

A memorial service will be held on September 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 30 Eastman Street, Concord NH.

Burial will follow in the Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
