Emily Hatfield Obituary

BOSCAWEN – Emily (Alley) Hatfield died peacefully after a long illness Thursday, March 15, 2018, in Boscawen, at the age of 78.

Emily is survived by her husband, Herb Hatfield of Boscawen; her son, Scott Alley, daughter in-law, Margie Alley, and their two children, Maxwell and Isabelle; Emily's daughter, Wanda Botticello, her children, Kimberly Stevenson and Marcus Botticello; Emily's daughter, Donna Alley and Donna's daughter, Jamie. Emily's sons through marriage, Roger and his wife, Barbara and Paul Hatfield and his wife, Diane. Grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Allison, Jessica and Caitlyn. Emily also has four great-grandchildren, Liam and Noah Stevenson, Liam Hatfield and Rylynn Austin. 

Emily was born on Dec, 18, 1939, in North Conway, to Frances and Emma Welch of Tamworth. Emily graduated from Kennett High School in 1957. After moving to Concord in 1957, Emily began working for Blue Cross and Blue Shield before she began her career with the State of NH. Emily worked for the State of NH for 30 years before retirement. 

Emily was a kind person who loved people. In her later years Emily and Herb started a business called ""Ma & Pa's Candy"", where they traveled from fair to fair in New England during the summer months bringing smiles to everyone who stopped by for candy treats. Emily loved the coast of New England and her broiled scallops. Emily and Herb also enjoyed going to their Florida home during the winter months and spending time with their Florida friends. 

Visiting hours will be Friday, March 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, Concord.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m. with a reception following. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Emily's life.
