Gerald Blanchard Obituary
He was the adoring husband of Sonia M. (Parra) Blanchard. They were married Dec. 18, 1997, in Marco Island, Fla. Jerry attended Hillsborough-Deering High School. He served in the Army National Guard and Washington Fire Department; received his Associates Degree at the New Hampshire Technical Institute and is Bachelors with The University of New Hampshire in electrical engineering, serving his lifetime in telecommunications. He was an avid amateur radio operator serving as the Assistant Emergency Coordinator for the Capital Area Amateur Radio Emergency Services (CAARES), where he provided group-wide home electronic automatic notification systems utilizing his expertise and equipment from Exacom. This was before the days of smart phones.
He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, scuba diving and generally being outdoors.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sonia of Concord; stepfather, Don Hartlen; sister, Sherlene (Doddy) Fisher and husband, Ray Fisher; brother, Donnie Hartlen; two daughters, Vicki Blanchard of Hillsborough and Denyse Blanchard of Suatee, Ga.; two sons, Gerald Blanchard Jr. of Georgia and Angelo Florez of Medellin, Colombia. Grandchildren, Jessica Crane, Benjamin Crane, Cassi-Mae Gelinas, Preston Biggers and Cameron St. John. Great-grandsons, Gabriel Gelinas, Michael Crane, Parker Gelinas and Nichols Crane, as well as nieces and nephews, loving in-laws and close friends. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will held Friday, May 25, at 2:30 p.m. at the NH Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Sonia and the entire Blanchard family-
My deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved Jerry. It was my true privilege to work closely with Jery at Exacom; he taught me a lot and I will always value his friendship and camaraderie. What a great guy to share a workday or trade show with! The world has lost a true honorable gentlemen. My deepest sympathy to you all and I hope you can find comfort in knowing how many of us held Jerry in such high regard. I will miss him.

Señor, solo tú eres el dueño de la vida. Nos concedes la gracia de nacer, siempre con un propósito y del mismo modo nos llamas a tu reino de luz cuando consideras nuestra misión en la tierra ya está cumplida, no antes ni tampoco después.
Hoy me presento ante ti con humildad profunda y seguro que mi pedido será escuchado, para implorar por el alma de Jerry a quien has llamado a descansar a tu lado. Elevo a ti esta oración, oh señor, porque solo tú eres paz incluso en medio de las más fuertes tempestades.
Padre celestial, por favor permite el descanso en el paraíso del alma de Jerry de quien ya abandonó este plano terrenal y ha emprendido un viaje al cielo prometido. Tú, que eres un Dios de amor y perdón, concédele la gracia de la vida eterna.
Te pido también señor, por Sonia y toda la familia. Abrázanos con tu amor infinito y danos sabiduría para entender lo que está pasando, tranquilidad para mantener la calma en estos momentos difíciles, inteligencia para comprender que la mejor manera de honrar a Jerry es recordarlo con amor y valentía para reponernos de la tristeza y continuar adelante con tu compañía y haciendo tu santa voluntad.
Te agradezco padre santo, por escuchar mi clamor, que con tanto fervor elevo hacia tus oídos, para que en un acto de misericordia le brindes la paz al alma de Jerry y seas tú guiando los pasos y cada una de las decisiones de quienes, como yo, continuamos disfrutando del regalo más maravilloso que nos has entregado: el maravilloso regalo de la vida, Amén.
