Grant Conley Obituary

ASHLAND – Grant G. Conley, 60, of Ashland, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at his home after a three year battle with prostate cancer.

He was born in Natick, Mass. on Sept. 17, 1955, to Grant "Bill" and Elizabeth "Betty" (Perry) Conley. He graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1974 and lived in New Hampshire for nearly his entire life.

Grant spent his career as a salesman, technician and entrepreneur in the commercial audio and video industry. Committed to playing equally as hard as he worked, Grant loved fishing on Squam Lake, hunting on Ragged Mountain, cooking meals for his family, riding his motorcycle, and relaxing in the company of his many loyal friends. He will be remembered as caring, humble and resilient, maintaining a "glass half full" attitude and a keen sense of humor through his final days.

Grant is survived by his loving wife of three years, Kathleen A. (Campbell) McCarthy of Ashland; three children, Nathaniel Conley of Manchester, Juliana Conley of Santa Fe, N.M. and Corinne Conley of Boston; a stepson, Michael McCarthy of Gloucester, Mass.; two step-grandchildren, Frances and Eloise; two sisters, Miriam Fishman of Silver Spring, Md. and Perry Conley of Amherst, Mass.; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Sunday, Dec. 6, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester.

A memorial service is Monday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215

Sending the entire Conley Family my sincerest condolences. Grant was like an uncle to my brother and I. We had some great cookouts on the lake making memories that I will always cherish. He will be remembered for his infectious personality, generosity, and ability to always make us laugh. He will truly be missed.

I worked with Grant at NHIS. We became friends and I was fortunate enough to see him after he left the speedway. We always talked and laughed about the good old days at the track. You will be missed,
