Herbert Benoit

Bow, NH - Herbert Ray Benoit, 88, passed away on January 23, 2025, in Merrimack, NH. Born on December 17, 1936, in St. Johnsbury, VT, Herb graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1955 and served in the Air National Guard. After his father's death, Herb expanded the family's small engine business to include Honda motorcycles and John Deere equipment before closing it in 1981. Herb was active in the local Elks Lodge, scouting, and snowmobiling, contributing to the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers. After moving to Southern NH, he worked at Pitco Fryolator, rising to Head of Industrial Engineering until his retirement in 2002. He loved nature, photography, and travel, visiting over 76 countries. Herb is survived by two sons, a brother, a sister, a granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren. His wife, Phyllis, predeceased him in August 2024 after 63 years of marriage.
