Ian Eric Moulton

1976 - 2014

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Ian Erik Moulton, 37, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.

Ian was born to the late Elizabeth Frances Muise and late Richard Peabody Moulton on Nov. 10, 1976, in Boston. He was raised in New Hampshire, but lived his adulthood in North Carolina. Ian worked as a tradesman and mechanic and could fix most everything placed before him. He loved racing and classic and race cars.

Ian's smile would light the room and his quick wit and sarcasm kept people laughing. He felt happiest when surrounded by family and friends and went out of his way to help anyone, often at his own expense. He was the sole caregiver to his mother during her battle with Cancer and was the main father figure in his sister's life. Ian was accepting, caring and generous - he was like a walking teddy bear and he will be missed beyond comprehension.

Ian is survived by his sister, Sabrina Moulton Gratch, brother in-law, Lawrence Michael Gratch and niece, Sydney Elizabeth Fanale, of Charlotte, N.C.

A memorial service celebrating Ian's life will take place Friday, October 3, at 4:30 p.m.. at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis, NC. Reverend Karen Kaser-Odor will officiate. Friends will be received by the family from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in the gathering room.
