Jenness Dearborn Obituary

Jenness (Jen) Dearborn, 81, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, formerly of Concord, NH and Lumberton, NC, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Susan Dearborn; daughters Sarah Beauvais (Dean) and Debbie Harris (Ben); and grandchildren Zack, Abbie, Miles, and Porter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilda and Henry Dearborn, and sisters Diane Daley and Donna Woodfin.

Jen served in the National Guard and had a long career in manufacturing, retiring as Vice President of Manufacturing at Graphic Packaging. In retirement, he and Susan enjoyed coastal life and volunteered with sea turtle conservation efforts. A skilled woodworker and avid traveler, he will be remembered for his steady presence, kindness, and devotion to family.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest at sea. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family.

So sad to hear of Jenness' passing. Jim and I met he and Susan many years ago when they volunteered on the Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle patrol. Many, many great memories of spending time on the beach waiting for the hatchlings to emerge. Our deepest sympathy to Susan and their family.

I was so sorry to read about Jeness, I thought of him over the years. I guess because of my Dad Ron Knee because him Jeness had his Ileostomy. May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in your memories.
