I remember John from Hermanos , that smile is unforgettable. He and Ann always came in and Barbara Tilton Avery was his cousin. They were a joy to take care of, and just to say hello to. When I saw his photo here. . .I paused and shed a tear. I thought of Ann and I thought of Barb, but most of all I thought of his spirit being free. Rest in peace, John. My prayers go out to your family, friends and loved ones. May your hearts be filled with healing and peace through this hard time.

My sympathy to his family. John used to hunt with my mom when they were young adults.

To Ann and family: I was so saddened to hear of John's passing. He was one of the best! I enjoyed spending time with John just talking about anything and everything. We got together several times to fish the Soucook River and he and Joey came up to Newfound Lake and we ice-fished from my toasty bob house. John brought a huge bowl of venison stew that we enjoyed immensely. Joey caught a bunch of perch that day and stuck them in the snow headfirst. I've talked with John a few times on the phone and last saw him at my father's funeral in 2012. Hold on to your memories and again, my condolences.

John was a great friend and classmate. He was always the same smiling and friendly guy, no matter the circumstance. He was tough, attending our latest class reunion several months ago, even though he'd endured several medical events, and never changed--always the gentleman. He will be sorely missed, by me and I'm sure by all our classmates.

The Ranger Creed
Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong, and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one hundred percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well trained Soldier.
Rangers Lead the Way! Hoo-ah!
Rest in Peace John, we had many great times in the mountains of Colorado and the forests and beaches of New Hampshire.
