Joseph Cassidy Obituary
He was born on December 8, 1951 the youngest son of the late John D. and Dorothy (McCarthy) Cassidy. Joseph grew up in Concord and played youth sports. He was a graduate of Bishop Brady High School class of 1970. He was an outstanding basketball and tennis player for Brady.
He worked for the NH State Liquor Commission for many years until his retirement.
He is survived by his 3 brothers and their respective spouses: John and Donna Cassidy, Thomas and Susan Cassidy and James and Faye Cassidy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Leigh D. Cassidy and Jodi L. Foster of Portsmouth, Sara E. Amory of Winchester, MA, Elizabeth J. Cassidy of Washington, DC and David C. Afflick and Daniel C. Afflick of Concord, NH, and many cousins.
Joseph was a fixture at all of the Bishop Brady basketball games.
Memorial Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, December 1, from 2-4 PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 2, at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Waters Funeral Home.
Burial will be at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please perform an act of kindness in memory of Joe to someone in need.

I was blessed to know Joe Cassidy. Joe and I grew up together. We went to high school together. We shared many laughs working together on Sunday's at the State Liquor store. There were many things I loved about Joe. His smile, talking sports with him, especially women's tennis which he loved! To the Cassidy family- I'm so sorry for your loss. From my heart I promise Joe is in tremendous hands. God bless

My condolensces to the Cassidy family for this loss. I worked with Joe at United Life Insurance Company, back in the day. He was always in-the-know with the latest news on Boston sports teams. Had a well developed sense of humor, too, as I recall. Rest In Peace, Joe.

I am so sorry for your loss. Joe and the Cassidy family were neighbors on Walker Street for many years and we all attended St. Peters right across the street from the Cassidy House. Joe was a kind and likable person and he will be missed.

I remember playing basketball against Joey during his Brady days and working with him at The Highlands ski area during the 70's and would see and chat with him frequently around town and more recently we'd see each other at breakfast time. I offer my sincere sorrows to the Cassidy Family with the passing of Joey. As an Alter Boy at St. Peters Joey was always out front on Sunday's rain or shine selling the Sunday papers with a smile and a good morning. Joey would always go the distance to say Hi. May he now Rest Easy.
