Louis Brissette Obituary

Louis W. Brissette

Bow, NH - Louis Wilfred Brissette, 85, died February 12, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home in Bow, NH. He was born on September 23, 1939, near the shores of Lake Champlain in the city of Burlington, VT, the son of Wilfred Brissette and Simone (Fay) Brissette. When the textile mills closed in Burlington the family relocated to Suncook, NH.

He was the husband of Patricia (Randlett) Brissette. They were married on October 5, 1963, in Concord, NH.

He attended Saint John the Baptist Parochial School in Allenstown for 4 years before his mother moved him to Pembroke Elementary, where he graduated in 1954. He then went on to Pembroke Academy and graduated in 1958. As a young lad he was a drummer in various local bands playing the clubs. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and was also in the 39th Army Band playing bass trombone. He worked for the State of New Hampshire Right-of-Way division of the Department of Public Works and Highways. Louis was also active in the Old Suncook Village Vitalization Committee. After retiring from the Army National Guard, he joined the Freese Brothers Big Band and served as president emeritus. Louis was a lifelong New York Giants and Boston Red Sox fan.

Louis is predeceased by his brother Francis and his wife Veryl, his sister Mariette and his sister Jan and her husband Basilio Shichkin.

He is survived by his sister Lucille and her husband Robert Sarette, numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins in Vermont, his daughters Pamela Brissette and her husband Stephen MacMillin of Culver City, CA, daughter Jacqueline Brissette and her little dog Patches of Bow, NH, son Sean Brissette and his wife Linda of Hubbardston Massachusetts and son Michael Brissette and his wife Shanan of Johnston, RI; grandchildren Tyler, Rebecca, John and Garrett Brissette, and Maya and Olivia MacMillin; and great grandchildren Lexie Spagnola, Mila, Maddox and Landon Brissette.

SERVICES: A memorial mass will be held, 10:00 AM, Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Christ the King Parish, Concord, NH. Interment will be later in the summer (time and date to be announced) at the Boscawen Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Those who wish to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Freese Brothers Big Band Scholarship Fund supporting young musicians across New Hampshire. Donations may be sent to Attn: Peter F. I had the pleasure of working with Louis at the DOT. So many memories that still make me smile, he was the best and during my younger years he was a great influence helping to guide me to become who I am today. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.
