Madeline Pease Obituary
Bow, NH — Madeline Mary Pease (nee Theriault) passed away at home, comforted by family, at the age of 90 on May 8, 2021.
She was born to Mary (LeBlanc) and Joseph Theriault on October 20, 1930 in Bridgeport, CT. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Walter Pease; siblings Veronica (Theriault) Ennis, Theodore Theriault, Edward Theriault, David Theriault, Agnes (Theriault) Steinbeck; sons Theodore "Ted" Willard and Michael Fox; great-grandson Willy Willard; and great-granddaughter Emma DelSanto.
She is survived by her children Deborah (& Kenneth) Oakes of Spofford, NH; Thomas Willard of Lincoln, NE; Kathleen (& Bob) Pyne of Hooksett, NH; Elinore Fox of Sterling Heights, MI; Timothy Fox of Lincoln, NE; Theresa Ashelman of Orlando, FL; Margaret (& Bryan) Westover of Bow, NH; step-children John (& Beverly) Fox of Barnsville, GA and Judith Grant of Lawrence, MA; sister Isabel Kratochvil of New Haven, CT; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed reading, quilting, and sewing everything from children clothes to wedding dresses.
After raising eight children, which included being a Boy and Girl Scout leader, she went on to be a visiting nurse's aide, then a dietitian for the New Haven, CT V. A. Hospital.
After retirement, she loved to travel, including all 50 states and many countries.
She truly enjoyed her role as the matriarch of this large family. She set a great example of a strong and independent woman, and stayed that way until the end, but jokingly admitted that "The old gray mare ain't what she used to be."
A Christian Mass will be held at Christ the King Parish, 72 S. Main St, Concord, NH on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do a good deed in her name
