Margie Mysyk Obituary

OAKLAND, Calif. - Margie Mysyk, loving sister of local residents, died peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at her home in the Berkeley Hills, after ferociously battling two rare cancers. She was 66 years young.

Margie was predeceased by her parents, Dymetro and Eva Mysyk; and her youngest sister, Mary Ellen Engard.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Robert More Blanshard; sister, Lucilla M. Sokol and her husband, Stan P. Sokol, of Penacook; sister, Patricia M. Shafer and her companion, Wayne Utter, of Endicott, N.Y. and Fuquay Varina, N.C.; five nieces and nephews; and friends too numerous to count.

Margie's was a life well lived. She especially enjoyed Symphonic Concerts and Bluegrass Festivals.

Burial at St. Basil's Cemetery in Union Mills, N.Y. will be at the convenience of the family.

Margie will always be remembered for her smile, laughter and strong determination. She and I were cousins, born about 5 months apart. Our family has always been close so we literally grew up together. Margie and her family left our area in the late 50's for her father's new job. The family home is in Endicott, NY. Margie left that area about 1965. Margie and I kept in touch over the years. I will miss our conversations and our sharing of ideas. May God bless her and her husband. I will always remember her with much love.!
