Michael S. Annis

1944 - 2014

MANCHESTER – Michael S. Annis, 69, of Beech Hill Drive, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Elliot Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Concord on Nov. 14, 1944, Mike was the son of Herman and Sybil (Kelly) Annis. At 18 he joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1962 to 1966 during the Viet Nam War. At the end of his tour of duty, he served with the Air Force Reserves.

Until his retirement Mike worked as a tool and die engineer for New England Plastics in Woburn, Mass. He was previously employed by Gold Bond Building Products and Keller Products.

Mike was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served as State VFW Commander in 1993-94. In addition he served several terms as Suncook VFW Post Commander and Post Quartermaster and was also a Past District 4 Commander. Mike was a member of the John J. Maguire American Legion Post #28.

Mr. Annis is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dorothy "Dottie" (Price) Annis of Manchester; three sons, Michael Annis and Jonathan Annis, both of Franklin and Kevin Hammer of Belmont; six grandchildren, including Mark Hammer who holds a special place in his family; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, David Annis of Alabama, Ernest Annis of Maine, Janet Mae Deshaies of Bow, Stephen Annis of Manchester, Douglas Annis of Maine and Kathleen Stone of Hooksett; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Hammer; and brothers, Kenneth, Raymond, and Donald.

Calling hours are Sunday, June 8th from 1 to 3 p.m. at the American Legion building on Church Street in Pembroke. There will be a brief military service at 2:30 p.m.

Burial will take place at a later date at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
