Michael Breault Obituary

CONCORD – Michael G. Breault, 74, died Thursday, March 29, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Portland, Maine, son of the late Gerard and Mary (Germaine) Breault. A graduate of Portland High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran, Michael received his bachelor's degree from Husson University in Bangor, Maine. Michael worked for the federal government's Healthcare Financing Administration as a financial advisor/auditor. He retired after 30 years of service and enjoyed many years in retirement doing the things he loved most.
Michael enjoyed many activities life had to offer and spent the majority of his time sharing his passions with his family and friends. Michael loved baseball throughout his life, umpiring in the Sunset League for many years. A former catcher himself, he coached Little League and mentored many young men in the art of baseball. An avid golfer and member of the local group to Beaver Meadow, known as the "Bozos", Michael spent hundreds of hours among friends on local and foreign greens, even traveling to St. Andrew's in Scotland. Michael was an athlete at heart, a boxer in the Navy who later ran several marathons, including Boston.
Michael's greatest passion was his family and friends and he shared all of his hobbies and interests with those he loved: baseball, golf, fishing, cooking, gardening, military history, and woodworking, to name a few. Michael even achieved his dream – building his own "camp", which quickly became a full-blown home, on Bow Lake in Strafford, N.H. He did nothing half-way. But, Michael built something more important than anything else in his lifetime, and that was the love and relationships he shared with his large group of extended friends and family. He had a way of finding connections with everyone he cared for, forging special bonds that will live long in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Seybold) Faretra, son; Todd Breault and his wife Joan of Bedford, his daughter; Stacey Scaccia and her husband Bob of Londonderry, two step-daughters: Heidi Gamble and her husband Dan of Stamford, Conn., and Polly Saltmarsh and her husband Brian of Concord. Micheal's greatest pride and joy were his nine grandchildren; Sophia and Mathew Scaccia, Arianna and Samantha Breault, David and Ben Saltmarsh, Emma Rose, Danny and Casey Gamble. Michael also leaves one brother; Neil Breault of Toronto, and many nieces, nephews and cousins, many of whom very special to him. He was predeceased by his brother; Alfred (Freddie) Breault.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 3 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Waters Funeral Home 50 South Main St. Concord.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 3, at 12 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary 180 Loudon Road, Concord.
Burial with military honors will be held at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to the CRVNA Hospice Program, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, N.H. 03301.
