Coach Mike Morin was more than just a football coach-he was a mentor, a role model, and a steady compass pointing toward what was right and good. As kids in the Derry Demons program, we looked up to him not just for his playbook, but for his character. He made us feel like we belonged-to a team, to a town, and to something bigger than ourselves. The fall of ´78 is etched in my memory as one of the happiest times of my childhood, largely because of Coach Mike.
He set out to coach football, but ended up building a true community. He brought families together, gave us a sense of local pride, and taught us lessons that many of us still carry today. I´ve carried my memories of him over many years and many miles, and they still bring a smile-especially when I pass on a life lesson I first learned by watching Coach Mike in action.
Rest in peace, Coach. You made a lasting difference. I´ll continue to think of you often and with great gratitude.

I enjoyed Mike and we often chatted when I walked past his place River Road, I helped fill in his garden with some perennials from my own. I will miss the pklball car and his friendly wave from his living room. My sympathies for your loss.

I wanted to offer my condolences to Mike's family and friends. I had the privilege of playing pickleball with Mike and enjoyed some amazing conversations with him. I can only assume he is at peace reunited with his wife now. He was one of the good ones....so kind, funny, and welcoming. So sorry for your loss.

Tracie and Jason and family. I am so deeply sorry for you and your family's loss. Big Mike was who we all aspire to be--kind, generous, welcoming, compassionate. He always brought a smile to your face every time we were lucky enough to see him and play pickleball with him. I'm going to miss sitting in that big comfortable chair he always brought but more importantly sitting next to him and talking about lucky we are to be a part of an awesome pickleball community. We are all going to miss you buddy. We are all better people for having known you. I write this with a tear in my eye but a smile on my face knowing you were doing what you love to do.
