Michael Serard Obituary

Michael O. Serard

Bow, NH - Michael O. Serard of Bow, NH passed away after a brief illness at Concord Hospital on December 3rd, 2024, at the age of 68.

How do we begin to tell you about a man who was the epitome of goodness, love and faith. Mike was a very special person who loved his wife, his two sons Benjamin and Joshua, granddaughters, siblings, nieces, nephews, and his friends. He was true to himself and his values. Mike was an Eagle Scout to the core of his being. He lived his life devoted to helping others. Mike loved being a coach and was proud of the players on his teams. Mike was loyal, brave and true.

Mike was born in Plymouth, NH, the son of Oscar J (predeceased) and Anita (O'Keefe) Serard. He graduated from Concord High School in 1974 and then went to the University of Maine Orono to receive a Civil Engineering degree. He also became a Phi Eta Kappa Brotherhood. He later went to Franklin Pierce University to complete his bachelor's degree in business administration.

Mike worked for State of NH, TSI, Eastern Analytical Incorporated, and Aquarian Analytical. He spent his career working for many years as a Chemist, Analyst and Customer Service Manager. He enjoyed working on the various projects around the house and lived for playing with his granddaughters. He loved cooking and being a teacher. He loved going to shows in Boston, the ocean, swimming in the pool and taking care of his friends. He loved to travel taking trips to New York, Colorado, WDW, Aruba, St. Martin and many times to Florida.

Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lisa Stewartson Serard of Bow, his children Benjamin Carl and Joshua Nicholas (Sammy Day) and his grandchildren Ryleigh Rose and Elizabeth. He also leaves his mother Anita, siblings Cheryl Herrington, Peter Serard (Diane), and Deborah Lawson (William), as well as many nieces and nephews. Mike leaves behind many close friends that were like family to him.

A Celebration of Life: At this time because Christmas was Mike's favorite time of year, we are going to celebrate Mike in January, the date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.

The Waters Funeral Home in Concord has the honor of assisting the family with the arrangements.

Sending my condolences to the Serard Family. Mike and his team at Eastern Analytical provided expert training for the NH wastewater operators and laboratory technicians for over 20 years. Mike is one of the most generous people I've ever met. He gave his time and shared his knowledge so willingly. He provided hands on instruction and easily explained complex subjects & truly made a difference for many operators and technicians. He will be missed.

Mike's passing has left us all heartbroken.

It's 1974, Mike is a senior in high school, I am his 23 year old teacher. Mike is my most academically outstanding and favorite student. A few short years later my fledgling start up business floundered, until Mike joined me. It was just the two of us then, consciously and tirelessly working side by side, and together we sprouted a successful business. The business became a significant sponsor of many non-profits including youth and adult sports teams, with Mike always the coach/captain of the adult teams. As a workmate, teammate, and friend there are many adjectives describing him, but here are just a few: conscientious, competent, supportive, respectful, admired, loved. I love Mike Serard.

Mike worked for Bill and I at Aquarian. He was a very caring man who worked hard but was always smiling. We were sad when he left our employment. I wish the Serard family the best during this difficult time. Kathy

Mike was one of my Fraternity Brothers at U Maine, we were in the same pledge class. That is a bond of friendship and character that only insiders will understand.
So sorry to hear this news but will forever remember the times we spent during those formative college years.
Miss you my Brother.
