Nancy Miner Obituary

Nancy Evelyn Mitchell Miner, 76, died on November 8, 2018 at her home in Hopkinton in the company of family and friends.

Born in Worcester, MA to John F. and Mary Render Mitchell, she attended public schools in Shrewsbury, MA and was a graduate of Colby College.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Norman Foss Miner, and their two sons: Jonathan Miner (Melissa) of Epsom, NH and his two sons, Edward and David; and Seth Miner of Hopkinton, NH and his children Landon, Kaydence, and Weston. She also leaves sisters Dorothy M. Downing (Alan d.) of Newburyport, MA and Rebecca M. Mitchell (Benjamin Harris) of Stratham, NH.

While working for more than 20 years in the garden department of the Concord Home Depot Nancy was affectionately known by her colleagues and customers as "Mother Nature." In recent years Nancy and Norman have been active in living history groups focused on mid 18th century rural life, joining gatherings throughout New England. Nancy enjoyed sewing historically accurate clothing and other crafts. She was an active member of the Hopkinton Historical Society, the Concord Garden Club, and the Hopkinton Contoocook Gardeners.

Burial in the Old Hopkinton Cemetery will be private.
