Hands down Nap was the best teacher I ever had. He was easy to please if you wanted to do your accounting and gave it your best. If you needed help, he'd do anything to accommodate you. He was tireless, filling 3 chalkboards full of information EVERY DAY for EVERY CLASS. He gave it all to his students, all the while cheering them on. He was a straight forward, honest man with lots of integrity, and he got all my respect. He never forgot me and we remained friends since 2001 when I took his classes. I'll never forget the zest and energy he had for life and for his teaching. He was challenging and unforgettable. My heart is heavy thinking that I won't get to talk to him again. My heart goes out to his wife, daughter and little granddaughter. Nap, may God Bless YOU and may you rest in peace. You did your job very well, and you have thousands of people to thank you for all you gave. We will miss you terribly, and you will live on at SPSCC in the policies and practices you set up in the Accounting Department, and in the minds of your friends, colleagues and students. You set an example for all of us to follow. You even taught us how fragile life is, and how we should appreciate each day, because we don't know when we will be called home. Thank you and we will miss you at graduation this year - I thought I'd see you there so we could talk about how my daughter did in your class and is now graduating. I was looking forward to that. Your wife and family will be in our prayers. Carry on soldier!

Sincerely,
Mrs. P. J. Sanders
Olympia.

I will miss Nap as well. He was one of my favorite accounting instructors, period. He was a great supporter of all his students and I enjoyed him as an instructor as well as a colleague.

I'm going to miss this legend of Accounting. I have known Mr. Lucchini for a long time. I acknowledge him as my mentor and the reason my career has gone as far as it has. He taught me the foundation of principles that has kept me moving forward.
I will treasure the memories of his last few days of his life, retaking an accounting class Spring quarter 2014. I'm glad I had the chance to be in his class one more time.
My thoughts are with his family at this time. Take comfort in the fact that many will remember and praise him for a long time.

So surprised and sad to see this.

I still see Mr. Lucchini as I knew him decades ago in accounting class (1978). I loved that he knew his subject SO well, and that he consistently made an otherwise dry subject very palatable. I didn't know Nap outside of the classroom, but he had a way about him that was solid and true and inspiring. I learned a lot more from him than accounting. ([email protected])
