Neil Crathern Obituary

WEBSTER – Neil S. Crathern was called home Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016.

Neil was born Dec. 1, 1953, to Neola and Charles Crathern of Hopkinton. Neil was raised in Hopkinton and graduated from Hopkinton High School. He went on to have a successful career as a mechanical engineer and a manager of his family business Crathern Engineering. Later in life Neil formed a business with his lifelong friend Bill Newell and together they ran Newell Crathern builders.

Neil enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Neil had many adventures in life and travelled often. He and his wife went on a yearlong journey across the United States in their RV and recently enjoyed a three week trip to Hawaii.

Neil is survived by his wife of 35 years, Christine Crathern of Webster; his daughters Laurie Dube and her husband, Mike and Shelly Genest and her husband John; his parents, Neola and Charles Crathern; his brothers, Glen Crathern and his wife, Sue of Pennsylvania, Brian Crathern and his wife, Mary of Wolfeboro and Scott Crathern of Hopkinton; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be no calling hours.

A celebration of Neil's life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. at First Church of Hopkinton, followed by a reception in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CRVNA Hospice program, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301 or charity of your choice.
