Paul Kruzel Obituary

Paul Kruzel

Canterbury, NH - Dr. Paul Kruzel, DDS, a beloved husband, father, Baboo (grandfather), brother and Cubs fan, peacefully passed away on May 22, 2023. Born on November 23, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Lorraine and Walter Kruzel, Dr. Kruzel lived an extraordinary life full of service, creativity, and dedication to his loved ones.

Upon graduating from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1978, Dr. Kruzel joined the United States Army as a Pharmacy Technician, serving his country with distinction. His dedication to medicine led him to serve as a Captain in the Air Force, where he further honed his skills as a dentist. It was during this service that he met his beloved wife, Mary Louise McKerley.

Dr. Kruzel brought smiles to countless faces throughout his career in dentistry. He began his private practice in Manchester, NH, and later moved his practice to Clinton Street in Concord. After retiring from dentistry, he became the founder of RGB Holographics, where he combined his love for science and art.

Paul's passion for service and care extended far beyond his professional life. As an accomplished artisan, he had a profound appreciation for Birch Art and Stained Glass, often creating beautiful pieces for family and friends. This love for hands-on creativity also led him to build his home in Canterbury, NH, a testament to his dedication and love for his family. His love for nature led him to choose a beautiful birch tree in Canterbury as the location for his home. He always took pride in personally maintaining his serene property in the woods.

Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Kruzel; his children, Sean Kruzel (wife Jackie Gold) and their children, Charlotte and Walter; daughter Sarah Duclos (husband Nathan Duclos) and their children, Colin and Alex; and daughter Stephanie Guertin (husband Shaun Guertin) and expectant baby girl. He is also survived by his sisters, Amy Briguglio, Carol Swenson, Rita DeStefano and Mary Kosik. His family was the center of his world, and his loving spirit will continue to live on through them.

In his 72 years, Paul lived a life filled with purpose, love, and joy. His unwavering commitment to his love for his family, and his generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, May 30th at Shell Meetinghouse Cemetery (10 Shell Meetinghouse Rd, Canterbury NH) with a memorial to follow at his home nearby.

The Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street Concord, New Hampshire is assisting the family with arrangements.

Paul, you and me spent a lot of time together. When family got the best of us I could always find you. We´d sit, watch some far flung show like gold rush or ice road truckers. We didn´t have to talk but we heard each other. Then there were the times we spent alone when you´d tell me the tales of your youth and time in the military (none of which I can share here). We´d go get the fireworks together; we´d drive over to beanstalk together; you´d hang around while I built things and tell me to use more glue or zip ties. You cut out every beer review from the Laconia paper and save them until I saw you (they never reviewed Budweiser). You and I were the only ones who truly appreciated the Canterbury newsletter and the annual town budget publication. Many times at events people didn´t know where you had gone; I always new where you were and you kept your eye on me. You are Baboo to my boys and you showed them so many things (battle bots shouldn´t have been one of them). Mary kept them safe, fed and healthy (and happy)...you kept them crazy, fun and always looking for adventures. I love you Paul. Even though it´s going to be quiet on the couch when the rest are somewhere else in the house, I´ll be talking to you about our things.
