Peter cultivated cheer and his orchard alike. His and Mary’s welcoming apple harvest-picnics were an annual event for friends from all over. When they moved to a more convenient home, he still kept that mischievous smile: proof of Mary’s loving care, Willy Wonka’s constant attendance, faith, and memories of a life well lived. Our condolences to Mary and all the family.

My deepest condolences, Mary and family. The boys (who are in college now) and I have so many fond memories of visiting you and Peter, particularly in Fall, which just hasn't been the same the past few years. Thank you for everything.

Peter was a knowledgeable and engaging man, a lover of apples, bees and good music. After an energetic day working on his farm, there was nothing better before supper than to relax with him in his pink kitchen and chat and laugh over a fortifying (and often healing) gin and tonic. He was a generous host to me and to my children. While this world is less for his loss, we who have known and learned from him continue richer for his life. May you rest forever, my friend, in the Arms of Your Lord!

I am so saddened to learn of Peter's passing. I so enjoyed talking with him at all our Extension Tree Fruit Twilight meetings. He had a lot of knowledge to pass along. He was always such a joy, with a wonderful smile, positive attitude (regardless of how bad I made the tree fruit diseases seem!) and a great sense of humor. I consider myself so lucky to have known Peter. Thank you Mary for letting me know.

Wonderful memories of meeting and chatting with Peter and Mary for so many years at the Wilmot Farmers’ Market. Peter’s chutney was a favorite. Loved seeing them at concerts and finally a last visit to the farm for jams. Wonderful memories of a lovely man.

We have such fond memories of Peter, from his early visits to Dene Court Road to our subsequent summer holidays, first to Plymouth and then to New Hampshire. Peter seemed so at home and at ease in NH enjoying the farm, his apples and the lake. Peter was a perfect host when we came to visit.
We will all remember our wonderful holiday to Florida and we are blessed to have been able to enjoy time together at Disney and Indian Rocks. I am pleased the girls were able to spend some time with Peter and Peter with them.
With our deepest condolences

When my wife and I first arrived in Andover, New Hampshire and knew no one, on our first morning in our new home, Peter came walking down the street from his and Mary's home and warmly greeted us. He was bearing a small gift from them which he presented and immediately made us feel that our choice of residence was absolutely perfect. We will never forget him nor Mary as they often had us as guests in their home. Rest now in peace, Peter, as you join those who went before.

Peter was such a generous man with a kind spirit and playful nature. We will never forget him welcoming us the the “neighborhood” and all the visits we had bringing our company up to the farm to buy apples and cider. He will be truly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts. May he Rest In Peace.
With heartfelt sympathy to Mary and the rest of his family,

Peter was about the best host you could ask for and a great friend that welcomed me into his home whenever I came by. He'll be missed a lot, but I'll cherish the good times with him-- he always put a smile on the face of me & any of his other guests.

Peter was my dad when he adopted me in 2006. He provided me with ponds and streams so I could catch frogs. He allowed me to oversee the farm stand and greet all of his friends. When we had to move he would let me sit in his wheelchair and be brushed. I will miss him so much.
