Concord, NH — Rebecca M. Herbert, 91, of Concord, formerly of Chichester passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at her residence with her family surrounding her.

She was born on May 13, 1931 in Alton, daughter of the late Hazen and Stella (Ricker) Leavitt.

Rebecca was very involved in her community wearing many hats through the years, an organizational 4-H leader, she was on the Chichester Cemetery Commission, she spent 6 years as the secretary on the Chichester Planning Board, the Bookkeeper and School treasurer for Chichester School District as well as the Chichester Town Treasurer from 1962 to 2000 a job she took over succeeding her father, Hazen. A lifelong member of Chichester Methodist as well as former Church Treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent, there was no job she shied away from, she was always willing to take on a project or role set before her. She also worked for many years at Swenson Granite and later at Blue Cross Blue Shield in the finance department until her retirement.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Bilodeau, her second husband, Gene Herbert, her sister, Eleanor Leavitt Daroska and a granddaughter, Paige Bilodeau.

She is survived by her children, Janice Lakowicz and her husband Michael of Drakes Island, ME, Joyce Bilodeau and her husband Clay Feeter of York, ME and Gordon Bilodeau and his wife Carol Baggaley of Barnstead, grandchildren, Meloney Killpartrick, Adam Champagne, Michael Lakowicz, CarrieAnn Lakowicz Graichen, 8 great grandchildren as well as numerous friends.

In accordance with her wishes there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 11:30am at Leavitt Cemetery in Chichester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rebecca's memory can be made to the Chichester Town Food Pantry, 54 Main Street, Chichester, NH 03258 or to the Friends Program, 130 Pembroke Road, Suite 200, Concord, NH 03301.
