Rhoda Bergeron Obituary

Rhoda E. Bergeron

Boscawen, NH — Rhoda E. Bergeron, 87, of Boscawen, NH, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, following a short battle with cancer.

Rhoda was born in Abingdon, VA, September 3, 1934, the first of five children born to Earl and Margaret Anderson. As an Air Force wife, her strength and devotion to family were apparent in how she provided a safe and happy home while handling frequent relocations. Rhoda spent 20 years working as a Registered Nurse, followed by another 20 years as a Nursing Instructor with New Hampshire Technical Institute and made many significant contributions to the New Hampshire health care system throughout her career. She was passionately committed to the Town of Boscawen, spending countless hours involved in planning and preparation for Boscawen Old Home Day. She could be found nearly every Saturday selling raffle tickets to raise funds for the celebrations. She also assisted with numerous Fire Department dinners and served as secretary on the Boscawen Old Home Day committee. She was a fantastic mother and grandmother who was known to be endlessly generous with her time and talents. She enjoyed knitting and she used that skill to create and donate dozens of baby blankets to area hospitals.

Rhoda is survived by her son, Roger Bergeron II and wife Deborah Hawkins; her son Eric Bergeron; her daughter, Holly Tran and husband Loc; grandson, Gorden Bergeron, and grandaughter Jessica Tran. In addition to her parents and four siblings, she was predeceased by her husband, Roger Bergeron, in 2017.

Rhoda will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in a private family service. A Celebration of Life for all friends and family will be announced in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Merrimack County Nursing Home Residents' Fund, 325 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH, 03303. The Cremation Society of NH is assisting the family with arrangements. To view an online memorial, leave a message of condolence, or for more information please go to www.csnh.com.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Rhoda. Was a friend and band member with Roger at Maxwell AFB.
Great memories of her and Roger and her sister. I kept up with your mom by e-mail until late last year. Kinda thought something was wrong when I hadn't heard or been able to contact with her.
She was a great lady.
