Richard Boynton Obituary

Richard L Boynton

Northfield, NH - Richard Lee Boynton, 80, of Summer Street, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Granite VNA Hospice House surrounded by family.

Richard was born in Goffstown, NH on December 19, 1944. Richard spent his childhood in Henniker, NH with his aunt Una May Durgin on the family dairy farm. Richard attended Henniker schools and went on to attend New Hampshire Technical Institute. Richard earned his Associate in Science with a major in Mental Health, graduating with honors in May 1978. Richard had a robust career in many different arenas, the most notable being his employment with the State of New Hampshire as a Teacher Assistant with the Tobey School. Richard's love of driving led him to life on the road as a night courier for H&R Block and Omnicare where he took pride in delivering both tax documents and medications with equal diligence and care.

In 1977 Reverend Richard and his beloved late wife Dolores Boynton founded Harvest Christian Church in Concord, NH which served as the spiritual center for their family. Richard's spirituality and empathic nature made him a valued leader of their church community as he ministered and cared for the congregation he loved.

Richard was well known for his love of cars both vintage and futuristic, leading him to curate an extensive model vehicle collection. He enjoyed attending cars shows and dealerships when the new models were released, traveling yearly to the Kiwanis Annual Car Show held at his alma mater. Richard's natural curiosity and love of learning was fed by his voracious reading habit across genres and topics usually focused on history and mechanical inventions.

Richard was predeceased by his loving wife Dolores Boynton after 45 years of marriage. Richard will be deeply missed by his surviving family; Leanne Keller and her husband John of Pembroke, NH, Faithanna Thibeault and her husband Jeremy of Canaan, NH, and Loriann Boynton of Northfield, NH. He also leaves his three granddaughters Tristan and Murphy Keller and Nola Thibeault as well as his beloved biological and chosen family.

Richard's daughters invite you to join them for a celebration of Richard's life on March 29, 2025 from 10AM-12PM at Word of Life Christian Fellowship, 95 Old Loudon Road, Concord, NH 03301.

Richard was a kind upperclassman in high school. I will always remember his smile and friendly nature.
