Richard Riel Obituary
Winchester, TN — Richard A. Riel, of Winchester, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Rick was born June 6, 1952, the son of the late Edgar and Zula Riel.
Rick graduated from Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, where he excelled in soccer, baseball, and "highjinx".
After high school Rick enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 20 years. After his military service, Rick settled in Winchester, TN with his wife Bobbie Jean.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Zula Riel; brother, Robert Riel and sister, Margaret Riel Plante. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Bobbie Jean (Garrett) Riel of Winchester, TN; sons, Richard Riel of West Seneca, NY and Randy Riel of Buffalo, NY; loving grandchildren, Reese, Jackson and Colton of West Seneca, NY; sister, Patricia Mattingly of husband, Charlie of Tucson, AZ; sister, Donna Merrow and husband, Walter of Winchester, TN; sister, Barbara Fitzpatrick and husband, John of Winchester, TN; brother, Jeffrey Riel and wife, Sonya of Franklin, NH; sister, Valerie Pearson and husband, Randy of Cook,MN; brother, Michael Riel and partner, Tammy of Pittsfield, NH. Rick also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home 300 1st Ave, NW Winchester, TN 37398 (931) 967-2222

So sorry to hear of Rick's passing. Rick and I served together in Korea back in the late 70's. He was a very good friend.

I was so very sad to hear of Ricks passing. I fondly remember our family summer trips when we were younger. Rick was always the one who could make my Dad just shake his head with some of his "antics". Sending my condolences to all of you during this difficult time. Dottie
