Robert Sawyer Obituary

Robert E. Sawyer, Jr.

EPSOM, NH - Robert E. Sawyer, Jr., 80, of Epsom, passed away March 30, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House with his wife by his side.

He was born in Concord on October 28, 1944, to Bob and Betty Sawyer of Penacook. He graduated from St. John's High School in 1962 and the University of New Hampshire in 1971.

He started his career as an engineer at Northeast Electronics in Concord, where he helped invent a device to stop and catch phone hackers. Later in his career, he worked for Tau-tron in Westford, MA. While at Tau-tron, he became Director of International Sales and travelled to more than 20 countries in Europe and Asia.

He married Linda Edmunds of Chichester in September 1966. They enjoyed trips to several US states and seven Caribbean islands. He became dad to Jason in 1971 and Matthew in 1972. The family moved to Epsom in 1972.

Bob was a volunteer fireman with the Epsom Fire Department for over 30 years. He was a founding member of the Epsom Rescue Squad and an EMT instructor for many years. He served on the town Budget Committee and coached Little League Baseball. After his retirement, one of his greatest joys was as a volunteer tutor at Epsom Central School.

He is survived by wife, Linda, son, Jason, daughter-in-law, Melissa, and grandson, Matthew of Somerville, MA. He is predeceased by his parents and his younger son, Matt, formerly of Boulder, CO.
