Had known Scott for many years (we've lived on Morse Ln since 1985. He was a force of nature, irrpressable and with an in-your-face spontaneous friendliness. All the more shocked at his sudden departure. Met his mother Marion often on our daily walks up and down South Road and past her home. Scott always stopped or at least honked his horn and waved when passing. We've lost a great personality.
Rest in peace. Helmut and Margot Schwarzer

Angi and family, our heartfelt condolences on Scott’s sudden passing. It’s hard to believe that our larger than life neighbor will no longer be around. We have only known him for eleven years when we built our house across the street and he was always ready to help. We will miss his laugh and big smile.

Scotty I met first thing, the evening before I started work in Newbury. I came to know Scotty through the quick 12 years I was in Newbury. He loved to down shift that rig into town every chance he got and hit the horn with a thumbs up to let you know who was going by. Scotty filled the room with laughter with his crazy stories. I will miss his texts now and again, even if it was just to see how things were going since I left. I swear every time I see a log truck I will think of Scotty. To his family I wish you all peace and he would want you all to make the most of life.

Thoughts and prayers to all of “Mayor” Scott Hill’s family. May your fond memories of the good times carry you all through your grieving. We will miss his smiles and laughter, his caring helping hand, his beeps to the grandkids at the bus stop, and his famous thumbs up. His sense of community, neighbor helping neighbor, and friend helping friend, was unmatched. Scotty, we will keep a Bud in the fridge in your honor and think of you often.

We have lost a true friend and Newbury legacy. Scott ran the walk, he didn't walk the walk, and he was even better at talking the talk! No matter where or when, there was always a smile and great concern for things going on. He sure covered a lot of living in his quick 62 years. May the family share in the fabulous memories left behind, taken too soon.

Newbury lost a peace of history. This is so hard to believe, Scott was the sunshine in our mornings, the voice of South Newbury, a friend . You always knew where you stood with him. His love was so visible. He always was sure to tell his friends and family how much he loved them, there is no doubt of his friendship or love. He lived for his children and grandchildren. A man like Scott Hill is hard to find. Treasure his love and memory. I am lucky to have had him in my life.
