Steven Waite Obituary

Steven E. Waite

Concord, NH — Steven Edward Waite passed away on October 16, 2022, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born to Lorretta (Cooper) Waite and Edward Osgood "Ozzy" Waite on June 20, 1946. Steve was a loving father to Megan (Waite) Mauricio and her husband Nicholas of Bristol, Rhode Island; Casey Keach of Concord, New Hampshire, Meaghan Keach of Concord, New Hampshire, and Anne Marie Silvasy and her husband Jeff of San Antonio, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Anne (Mullen) Keach of Concord, New Hampshire, his sister, Melinda (Waite) Book of Millville, Pennsylvania, Susan (Waite) Tailleux of Criel Sur Mer, France, his cousin Janice (Cady) McCue and her husband Bud of Falmouth, Maine, his brothers and sisters-in-law, and his many nieces and nephews who gave him great joy, and of whom he was exceptionally proud.

Steve attended New England College for Business. He was in his element carving fresh tracks through the snow on mountainsides in the United States and France. He was an expert skier, ski jumper, and avid bicyclist. Steve liked to say that he had the best job, "selling fun" as the former owner of one of Concord, New Hampshire's oldest sporting goods shops, "Waite's Sports Specialists". He enjoyed working with his father, for many years…selling fun.

After closing the shop, he worked in the business development center at AutoServ Tilton. His customers were his friends, and he cherished those friendships dearly.

Steve will be remembered for his quick wit, his storytelling abilities and making everyone feel loved and accepted.

A private graveside ceremony will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Falmouth Foreside, Maine at a later date.

In Steve's memory, please consider a donation to the Epilepsy Foundation, 3540 Crain Highway, Suite 675, Bowie, MD 20716

I was very sorry to read that Steve passed away recently. He had a twinkle in his eye and always made me smile. I also remember as students we gathered in the stairwell of Walker School and were given a basic lesson on Steve´s needs and epilepsy - what to do if he had a seizure and how to support him. I took that lesson seriously. Years later I was able to support one of my students when she had a seizure.
He will be missed.
