Thomas Lemire Obituary

AUSTIN, Texas – Thomas Charles Lemire, "Tom," 60, a long time resident of Austin, Texas, died Saturday March 3, 2012, of a sudden illness, in Beeville, Texas, while participating in a Boy Scout event.

Tom was born May 15, 1951, in Franklin, son of the late Benoit J. Lemire and Beatrice L. (Beaulieu) Lemire.

Tom was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1969, and the University of New Hampshire with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Tom was previously employed by Dell Computer Corporation as a quality engineer. In the past decade, he pursued a new career as a licensed massage therapist, owned Healing Touch Therapies and, most recently, TC Massage.

Massage Envy in Austin, Texas, also employed him.

Tom was a life long Boy Scout, earning the rank of Eagle at the age of 13. He was active in scouting in Texas, earning many adult awards and most recently founded BSA Troop 877 in Austin, Texas, where he served as scoutmaster.

All who knew him will miss Tom's beautiful smile, infectious laugh and caring manner.

Tom was predeceased by his father, Ben; daughter, Sarah Rachel (2008); and nephew, Jason Thomas Elliott (1987).

He is survived by Stacey Lemire of Austin, Texas; his son, Joshua Lemire; his mother, Beatrice Lemire of Franklin; sisters, Judy Elliott and husband, Gary, of Salisbury, Nancy Guimond and husband, Ray, of Franklin and Janet Lemire of Pembroke; brothers, David Lemire of Franklin and John and his wife, Terri, of Franklin; nephews, Derek Lemire and Peter Elliott; niece, Tiffany Lemire; an uncle and numerous aunts and cousins.

A memorial service was held March 9 in Austin, Texas, at the Unity Church of the Hills.

Arrangements are being made for a memorial service on Sunday, May 6 at 1 p.m. at Odell Park in Franklin.

Memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Daniel Webster Council (Camper Scholarship Fund), 571 Holt Ave., Manchester, N.H., 03109.

So sorry to hear about Tom's passing. Didn't know he was living in Austin, maybe we was there at the same time and didn't even know it. I was stationed there from July '84 until June '85.
