Tony Heath Obituary
Concord, NH — Tony Ronald Heath, 74, of Concord, NH passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Granite VNA Hospice House with his daughter Liz and granddaughter Juli by his side, after a period of failing health. Tony was born in Franklin, NH on November 23rd, 1947, the eldest son of Edwin Sr. and Thelma (Miller) Heath. He attended Franklin schools, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1966. Tony enlisted in the US Army, where he served during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman, National Defense Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After leaving the service, Tony settled in Reno, NV where he married Elaine (Cheetham), and they raised their two children, Wendy and Liz.
Tony started as a meat cutter at Packers in Franklin, NH, continuing in the Army as a cook, then continued working as a meatcutter for various supermarkets, honing his skill to be the best left-handed meat cutter. Tony returned to Concord, NH in 1981 to take over the operations of the family store, Quality Cash Market, on Rumford Street. Tony had always wanted a bigger store, and moved Quality Cash Market to 11 Eastman St in 1999, which he ran until 2017. Tony was a huge fan of the Red Sox and was an avid golfer. He was in the Bandit League at Beaver Meadow for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #613.
Tony was pre-deceased by his parents, and his oldest daughter Wendy Lynn, who passed away in 2005. He is survived by his wife Elaine; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Maurice Duncan of Concord; four grandchildren, Logan Vossberg, Brooke Vossberg, Juli Heath, and Owen Duncan all of Concord, NH; three great-grandchildren, Meka, Peter and Odin; his Sister Bonnie McCranie of Strafford, VA; brothers Timothy & Rita Heath, Peter & Deborah Heath, Edwin Jr. & Denise Heath all of Franklin, NH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Public Calling Hours will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 2pm-6pm at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N Main St, Concord NH 03301.
Additional Service will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Granite VNA hospice house in Concord NH, as they gave excellent care to Tony in his final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bennett Funeral Home of Concord, NH.

I was Tony's mailman for a time when the shop was on Rumford Street. That's how I first met him. Tony was a character in the very best of ways. I thought so highly of him, that my wife knew him without meeting him- from my talking about him. I really liked Tony. My prayers and sympathy for his family and friends.

I have so many wonderful memories with Tony. Growing up across the street from each other, school, our graduation party. We were distant cousins, but best friends. Seeing you every 4th of July in Andover was a good reason to go! You fought a good fight and we will all be together again one day. Rest easy my friend. Til then.....

Tony was a pleasure. I used to stop by the Rumford Street store on my nightly dog walk and pick up dinner. We always conversed. Tony and his great spirit and will be missed.

I moved to East Concord in 1996 and was glad to have Tony bring his Quality Cash Market to the neighborhood. I became a regular patron for their great kabobs, meatloaf, and other fine meats. Condolences to the Heath family. R.I.P. Tony, a great man and a great neighbor.

I am very saddened to learn of Tonys passing. I have nothing but good memories of him when I would visit Quality cash market. Megan loved working there and had a lot of respect for him. Seems the Red Sox will have an extra angel on their side this year. My heart and prayers go out to the family.
