Virginia Ferguson Obituary

Virginia Ferguson

Warner, NH - WARNER – Virginia T. Ferguson, (90) passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2023. Ginger was born on April 16, 1933, to Clement and Belle (Sargent) Kaloyanides of Somerville, MA. She was the eldest of their 13 children.

Ginger received her RN from Boston State Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, working at Somerville Hospital and later, the Odd Fellows home in Concord, N.H. She married Roy A. Ferguson, Jr. in 1960 and they settled in Allenstown, NH and summered on Long Island, ME, finally retiring to Warner, NH.

Family always came first for Ginger and included her siblings, their spouses and children in addition to the extended Ferguson clan and neighboring families on Long Island. All knew how much she loved them while she knew how loved she was in return. She will be remembered for her love of music and song, whether around a piano, beach fire or with the Joyful Blend a capella group. Her infectious laugh was a call to celebration everywhere she went.

Ginger was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sons Rory and John, and her brother, Tom. She is survived her daughters Karen Lavoie (Dan) and Elaine Nichols; daughters-in-law Carol, Beth, Joan and Emilia; siblings John, Joan, George, Margaret, Elaine, Clem, Irene, Mike, Jeannie, Donald and David; grandchildren Coreen, Kristin, Brett, Shawn and Tony; great granddaughter, Isabella and very special friends Peggy and Becky.

A celebration of life and remembrance will be held on November 4th, 2023 at 11:00 am at the United Church of Warner. Her burial will be private.

Remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends. The family suggests gifts to the United Church of Warner at P.O. Box 203 Warner, NH 03278 and expressed gratitude for the loving care provided by Pine Rock Manor and BAYADA Home Health Care.
