William Field Obituary
Pembroke, NH — William D. Field, Sr., 95, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at his home in Pembroke, surrounded by family.
Bill was born in Newark, NJ on September 10, 1926, son of the late Fredrick and Madeline (Doty) Field. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Newark.
Bill served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and later went on to graduate with his Bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University.
In 1962 he married the love of his life Norinne T. Bertoldi, moving to Beverly, MA in 1967, then to Enfield, NH in 1971 where together they bought the Mascoma Lake Lodge, which brought them closer together for the next 17 years before retiring and moving to Pembroke in 1987.
Bill was a State Legislator for Pembroke and Chichester from 2002-2006.
Bill was a communicant of Holy Rosary Parish and an Honorary Life Member of the Father Routhier Council #4666 Knights of Columbus as well as a 4th Degree Knight. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Pembroke Pines Country club. William was an avid golfer and loved traveling. He enjoyed watching Seton Hall University basketball.
He was predeceased by his wife, Norinne T. Field in 2012 and a son, John Field.
He leaves behind two sons, William D. Field II of Pembroke and Denis B. Field of FL; daughter, Norinne M. Field of Pembroke and a grandson, Nicholas Maloney Field of Portland, ME.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19th from 2PM to 4PM in The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 20th at 10AM at Holy Rosary Church, 21 Main St. Hooksett and services will conclude with burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, River Road, Allenstown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of Bill to Holy Rosary Parish, 21 Main St., Hooksett, NH 03106.
