LaRose Vosburgh Obituary

LaRose "Rose" L. Pittman Vosburgh, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on July 18th, 1944, in Savannah, Georgia, Rose was a cherished resident of Ellabell, GA, and a heartwarming presence in the lives of many.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson "Bernie" Bernard Vosburgh, and her parents Earlie and Clyde Pittman, a grandson, Jason Dowd, Jr. and a granddaughter, Jessica Dowd. She is survived by her loving children: Everett Douberley (Pam), Pamela Anderson (Ben), Bernadette Brown (Joe), John Vosburgh (Jo Brinkley), and Saramay Douberley (Ken Baker). She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

A retired school bus driver for the Chatham County Board of Education in Savannah, Rose took pride in ensuring the safety and well-being of all the children in her care. Her commitment to her work reflected her caring nature and her passion for serving her community.

Rose enjoyed rich experiences traveling with her late husband Bernie, especially on cruises. She was known for her culinary talents, delighting family and friends with her extraordinary cooking. Her collections of porcelain dolls brought her joy, as did completing puzzles and growing beautiful flowers. A fan of classic Western shows like "Texas Ranger" and "Gunsmoke," Rose appreciated the simple pleasures in life, gathering strength and comfort from her hobbies and interests.

A visitation service will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, on Thursday, February 27th, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
