U.S. Veteran

Springfield – Larry William Langford, 82, passed away August 24, 2025 at The Oaks at Pooler.

The Chatham County native served in the Army National Guard, retired from Atlantic Southern Bank as Vice-President and loved playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Elmo Langford and Marjorie Rahn Langford; and his wife, Susan McCorkle Langford.

Survivors include his daughter, Laurie Coombe (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Jesse Coombe and Jaime Coombe (Ross Bartels); brother, Daniel Langford; sisters-in-law, Harriet Liebfried and Teresa Durden (Dee); brother-in-law, Charles McCorkle, II (Dot); and several nieces and nephews.

The family extends sincere thanks to Kelly and the staff at Regency SouthernCare Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regency SouthernCare Hospice.

No formal services will be held.

I so remember Larry from my years at Savannah High School, Class of 1960. I had a secret crush on him even though I never dated while in school. We spoke at one the reunions over the years. My prayers for the family.
