Chancellor Funeral Home & Garden of Memories - FlorenceJulia “Julie” Glenn Langford, 55, of Florence, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2026, at her home.
Born on April 28, 1970, in Los Angeles, California, Julie was the daughter of John and Lorena Palmeri Glenn. She lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and a heart devoted to serving others.
Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker whose life overflowed with purpose and generosity. She grew up in Los Angeles, finishing at St Bernard High School. She was also a gifted athlete and coach, having played volleyball at the collegiate level. She spoke highly of the support of her father, John, who was at each practice and game of her athletic career. She earned a full athletic volleyball scholarship and graduated from Concordia University Irvine and obtained a master’s degree from Mississippi College. Her passion for the sport led her to coach at both Belhaven University in Jackson, MS, and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA and lead numerous clinics for young athletes across MS and LA. Most recently, she found great joy in coaching her granddaughter Keller’s club team at Infinity Volleyball Academy in Ridgeland, MS while also faithfully encouraging her granddaughter Keaton and great-niece Rory in their recreational volleyball teams.
Julie was employed in sales positions throughout her career, serving as a sales representative for freight companies including Overnite, Viking and ABF. She was efficient, timely and dependable. Most recently, she performed accounting for their real estate businesses, keeping everything and everyone in line. She was an excellent cook, so creative, she was unable to make the same recipe twice, even when it was legendary. We gave her such a hard time that she began typing and organizing recipes in a 6-inch binder. Kevin found great joy in sneaking up and surprising Julie, it required little effort, she found it hilariously annoying. She adored her dogs, “her babies”, caring for them, spending time with them, outfitting their kennels with personal heaters, heating pads, fans, curtains and padded flooring, often climbing into their dog houses with them. Kevin would come home, searching for her by calling her name throughout the house and finally checking outside only to see her legs sticking out of a dog kennel with all 3 dogs, “Cletus” Snow Kraus, Champion “Champ” Dick Butkus and Chewbacca “Chewie” snuggling her.
Julie’s life was a testimony to her strong Christian faith. She never missed an opportunity to share the love of her Savior, Jesus Christ, with those around her. Whether in her church, her community, or on the volleyball court. She diligently studied the Word of God. She poured into the lives of others—mentoring women, uplifting friends, and offering wisdom, encouragement, and grace. She gave of herself freely and without hesitation, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was intentional in all areas of her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Langford of Florence; her daughters, Kimberly Langford Collins and husband Kenneth Collins of Madison, and Kelly Langford (Russell Bourland) of Madison and her cherished grandchildren, Keller Collins, Keaton Collins, Brett Bourland, and Victoria Grace Bourland. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel Glenn and wife Teresa of San Diego, CA, and her sister, Angela Glenn of Los Angeles, CA; her sister-in-law, Laurie Macoy and her husband Jimbo of Florence; mother-in-law Linda Workman, sisters-in-law Donna Workman, Tammy Douglas-Llerena all of North Charleston, SC and Sherrlyn Edgar of Desoto, MO; brothers-in-law Jerry Kraus Jr (Luanda Thompson) of Oklahoma City, OK and Jason Kraus and wife Joyce of Guam, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents Bryan and Margarette Pritchard Glenn and Michael and Frances Steigerwald Palmeri, cherished in laws Billy and Jane Bishop Langford and Gerald “Jerry” Kraus Sr.
Julie’s legacy is one of faith, love, and selfless devotion. She will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her joyful spirit, and her steadfast commitment to pointing others toward Christ. Though her passing was sudden, the impact of her life will be felt for generations to come.
A memorial service to celebrate Julie’s life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New Covenant Church in Harrisville, Mississippi.
