Robert Andrew "Bob" Lambeth
Bob went home to be with his Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday July 16, 2023.
He was born March 28, 1946, in Los Angeles, California, to R.A. and Eileen Lambeth. He graduated from Black Foxe Military School, Los Angeles, where he lettered in baseball, football, and swimming. He continued his education at California Western University, San Diego. The first day of his Sophomore year he met Susan on her first day as a freshman and the rest was history! He graduated from California Western with a BA in Elementary Education and History. He also obtained a masters degree in School Administration from Azusa Pacific University. He taught 2nd - 6th grade for 15 years in the Norwalk-La Miranda School District. While teaching he had been feeling a different calling and finally went to Christ College Irvine to become a commissioned minister in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Upon certification as a Director of Christian Education, he served as a youth pastor for 8 years at Concordia Lutheran Church, Lakewood and for 15+ years at Ascension Lutheran Church, El Paso, TX, touching the lives of many high school students. In all those years he was able to attend 8 National Youth Gatherings organized by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
Bob loved to watch and participate in a variety of sports. He was a lifelong Dodgers fan, a stoic Rockies fan, and an avid golfer - having played and was very successful at USGA Amateur golf. He also coached baseball and basketball at all levels, from recreation league to the college level as an assistant coach. Bob served as the PA announcer for the Franklin High School (El Paso) Baseball team for several years and upon his retirement in 2012, they placed his name in the Franklin High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Bob married his wife, Susan, on June 21, 1969, and they enjoyed 54 years together - it was a great and wonderful ride! Survivors include Susan, their daughter, Kelly, and her husband, Travis, and precious grandson, Matthew, all of whom he loved dearly.
Services will be held on Saturday July 29th, at Peace Lutheran Church, 5675 Field St. Arvada, CO 80002 at 11:00am.
