With heavy hearts we announce Wayne Thomas Lambeth of El Paso Texas passed away on December 7th 2025 in Auburn California.

Wayne was born in El Paso Texas to George & Meriam Lambeth on August 8, 1945. Wayne went to school in UTEP. Wayne married Melinda Jo Nightingale on January 28, 1971. The two lovebirds eloped in Mexico and started a life that they wanted to grow, build and enjoy together.

Wayne worked as a clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years. Wayne was involved in volunteering at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital. He also was a devoted walker at Medow Vista Park. He spent his time volunteering with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed the simple things in life like feeding the birds, bike rides with his girls and fishing with his sons. He could never turn down a hot plate of cheese enchiladas, chili peppers and a cold glass of milk. Wayne had a heart of gold. He was a friend to everyone. He enjoyed his horses, taking care of his property and loving his family. He loved politics, history, family and most importantly Jesus.

Wayne survived by his amazing wife, Melinda Lambeth and children, Lori Polisso and husband Tony, Christy Lambeth and wife Sarah, Wayne Lambeth and wife Eileen and Luke Lambeth. Wayne has 6 amazing grandchildren, Andrew, Aubree, Caii, Carlee, Liam & Ellie.

Wayne was a follower of Jesus and lead his family by example. Wayne never complained about challenges life put in front of him. Instead he looked to Jesus and was blessed for his values, faith and courage. We will miss you Wayne. You are forever the backbone to our family and will continue to be a light to all that knew you and loved you. You made us all proud to call you: Husband, Dad, Pappa and friend. We will see you again in Heaven one day. We love you.

A service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Friday, December 26,2025 at 11:00AM at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
