Clyo - Mark Helmly Austin, 50, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on October 29, 2025. Born and raised in Savannah on February 16, 1975, Mark was a lifelong resident who will be remembered for his kind heart and love of family.

He graduated from Bible Baptist School in Savannah and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mark attended Valdosta State University and later pursued his love of the culinary arts at the Savannah Culinary Institute.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Donald Evans Austin. He is survived by his mother, Ann Helmly Austin; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Charlotte Austin; his brother, Travis Austin; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tim Schroeder; nieces and nephews, Austin, Katelyn, & Kinsley Schroeder and Stevie Jayne Austin; and aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Mark had a generous spirit and a heart for helping those less fortunate. He found great joy in cooking, sharing meals with loved ones, music, and cheering for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. His warmth, humor, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mark's memory to a local food bank or charity of your choice.

Visitation will be 1 – 2 pm Saturday, November 1, 2025 in the funeral home.

Funeral will be 2 pm Saturday, November 1, 2025 in the funeral home chapel.
