Jennifer Vierra Obituary
On Monday, August 20, 2018, Jennifer Vierra, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, lost her long and hard fought battle with Ovarian Cancer at age 63.
Jen was born on November 12, 1954, in Weaverville, CA, to John and Genevieve Herring. She received her degree from the University of Chico in 1976, and was a beloved teacher for over 35 years. On June 26,1976, she married Vern Vierra and together they raised their son, Chad, in Willows, CA.
Jen was the most wonderful grandma to Brody, 7, and Olivia, 4. She leaves behind so many special memories that only a grandmother could create. She was always passionate about her family and taught us all what it meant to love each other unconditionally.
Her legacy as a teacher is one that is hard to match. In and out of the classroom, she was truly a selfless woman who always put others first. She loved to bake, shop, go on vacations with her family, play poker, teach and talk about teaching, and spend time with her numerous friends and extended family. She made our house a home.
She was a special force within the family and there will be a void that will never be filled. We all love you and will carry you forever in our hearts.
Jen is preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve; and her sister,, Robyn. She is survived by her father, John "Bud" Herring; husband Vern; son, Chad; daughter-in-law, Courtney; grandson Brody; granddaughter, Olivia; and extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018, at the Maxwell Cemetery at 2 o'clock p.m. Please join us afterwards at the Maxwell Legion Hall in a celebration of life. Donations can be made on behalf of Jennifer's memory to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Vierra was my 3rd grade teacher in Willows, CA. I believe I was in her first class as a teacher. I have wonderful, inspiring memories of Mrs. Vierra, my childhood was difficult and she was one of few safe adults in my life at the time and I was so grateful to go to school every day and see her.
I am so sorry for your loss, just know that I, along with many others will never forget her and are so grateful she was a part of our lives.
