Bertha Green Obituary

"Together Again"

NEWCOMERSTOWN: Bertha A. Green, 98, passed away June 28, 2010 at Riverside Manor and Rehab in Newcomerstown.
Bertha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother to her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, gardening and she loved her flowers.
She will be sadly missed very much by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Bertha was born to the late Francis and Viola (Boyer) Cognion in Coshocton County on May 12, 1912.
She is survived by five sons, her devoted son Paul Green, whom she resided with before her illness, Charles Green of West Lafayette, George (Martha) Green of West Lafayette, Bill (Kathy) Green of Newcomerstown, and Raymond Green of West Lafayette; eight daughters, Pauline (Gary) Russell of Newcomerstown, Emma Mullet of Fresno, Edna (David) Patterson of West lafayette, Nora (Ed) Groff of Newcomerstown, Betty (Kenneth) Troyer of Barberton, Bertha (Tom) Dusenberry of West Lafayette, Carolyn (Eric) Johnston of Plainfield, Rosemary (Jim) Abel of New Plila; she is survived by 42 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roe S. Green who passed away February 27, 1971 and whom she married August 12, 1931 in Willsburg, WV by Rev. Charles G. Cogley; one son, Roy S. Green Jr.; one daughter, Mary Snell; and two infant sons; one sister, Clara sturtz; four brothers, Ambrose, James, Walter, and Harold Cognion.
Private services will be held at Addy Funeral Home with Rev. Chauncey Eggan officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemtery, Memorial contributions may be made to Donors Favorite Charity. Online condolences may be made at www.addyfuneralhome.com
