Coshocton - " Together Again"

Kermit L. Lower, age 100 of Windsorwood Place, Brown's Lane, Coshocton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was born on April 5, 1918 in Holmes County to the late Edward and Iva (Brown) Lower. He graduated from Baltic High School in 1936.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie A. (Hartsock) whom he married December 14, 1941 at Roscoe United Methodist Church. The wedding was officiated by the Reverend Paul Olinger.

He is survived by his two sons, Robert L. Lower (Meriem Jo Casey Lower) of Grove City, Ohio and James E. Lower (Patty Frank Lower) of Canal Fulton, Ohio. Three granddaughters Andrea (Brian) Adkins of Cary, North Carolina, Amy (David) Blankenship of Lockborune, Ohio, and Rachel (Craig) Mouldey of Wilberforce Ontario, Canada; five grandsons, Eric (Jennifer) Lower of Dayton, Ohio, Steven (Joanna) Lower of Columbus, Ohio, Brian (Marcia) Lower of Lewis Center, Ohio, Michael (Liza) Lower of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Kevin (Amy) Lower of Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Jonathan Lower of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are 15 great-granddaughters, eight great-grandsons, two great-great-granddaughters, and one great-great grandson.

Along with his parents and wife, Kermit is preceded in death by one Brother, Galen Lower and two sisters, Vera (Wilbert) Lower Mathias and Fern (Joseph) Lower Springer, and one great-granddaughter.

He was employed at Scott Motor Sales in Coshocton for several years. He later owned and operated L & M Motor Sales in Killbuck, Ohio. He and his family moved to a farm in Keene Township in 1949. He was employed by the Keene School Board as a school bus mechanic and bus driver. When Keene became part of the consolidation of Three Rivers and later River View School Districts, he was hired by the Board of Education as transportation supervisor, head school bus maintenance and school bus driver.

After moving to West Lafayette in 1962, he was hired by the Ridgewood Board of Education as high school maintenance and bus driver. He retired from Ridgewood School District in 1981.

He was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, going to new car shows and being with family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jon George officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Kermit's name to the West Lafayette United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

The family extends their thanks and appreciation to the staff and residence at Windsorwood Place and the Coshocton Hospital for the excellent care and helpfulness they showed Kermit during his stay at each facility.

So sorry to hear about Great Uncle Kermit. Was so very glad I got to see him at his 100rh Birthday celebration. Was so nice to see his whole family. Always had good fun memories of you all when you came to our house (Dale Mathias) in Winesburg. Always a good time. My condolences to your family and Blessings. Love, Betty Duvall
